GCMarine is a dynamic marine construction company that provides berthing solutions for residential and commercial markets Australia wide. Due to current project commitments, we are looking for a self‑motivated and experienced concreter who can also run and manage a small yard crew. The position You will be required to perform formwork, steel‑fixing and concreting works to a very high standard on a variety of projects, specifically pontoons that will have a trowel or broom deck finish. If you can't finish concrete to a trowel or broom deck finish to a very high, commercial standard, then this job’s not for you. But we don’t pour pontoons or abutments all day, every day, so when you are not doing concrete, we find other general labouring tasks for you: carpeting / detailing pontoons, prepping abutment blocks, steel‑fixing for pontoons and abutment blocks, driving trucks, installing pontoons – whatever we have work wise As an added bonus, we work a 4‑day week, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday with the ability to work Fridays for overtime. Key responsibilities Wrap pontoons, formwork, steel‑fixing and concrete work on pontoons. Operate plant and equipment within strict workplace health and safety guidelines. Liaise with GCMarine management, suppliers and subcontractors to co‑ordinate onsite activities. Perform general labouring work as required if no concreting work is scheduled. Qualifications and experience Previous experience in working with formwork, steel‑fixing and concrete. Self‑motivated with an excellent interpersonal and professional skillset. Confidence and good communication with the ability to make informed business decisions. Ability to supervise staff and manage a small crew/team to be efficient and productive. C6 Crane / Manitou ticket/s and/or HR/HC/MC truck licence would be beneficial but not essential. The most important requirement is the ability to finish concrete to a very high standard. We’re looking for a passionate, proactive, and hardworking team member who really knows their concrete. We are looking for someone for an immediate start but are willing to wait for the right person with the right experience.
