Market West is owned by The Chamber of Fruit and Vegetable Industries in Western Australia and is a member organisation that includes fruit and vegetable wholesalers and other associated businesses operating within the Perth Markets in Canning Vale, WA. Among other things, Market West actively represents, advocates for, and services the interests of primary wholesalers in the Perth fruit and vegetable market, with a focus on industry growth and advancement. Market West retains a strong focus on ensuring a thriving and sustainable Western Australian fresh produce industry. This includes supporting and protecting the interests of members, promoting best practice, and improving the technical and business knowledge of people engaged in the industry. Market West also maintains a strategic shareholding in “Perth Markets” to the benefit of its members and the future of the industry. The Position: The incoming CEO can expect to have objectives and accountabilities consistent with a leadership role of a member-based organisation, with a key focus being continuous business improvement initiatives and ongoing leadership on industry related matters. More specifically, the CEO’s strategic priorities will be around: Strengthening the credit service offered to members. Fostering member relations. Building external relationships and advocating for the industry. Enhancing organisational capability. About You: Market West’s preferred candidate will offer extensive experience managing a commercial organisation of similar scale with demonstrated: Strategic, commercial and financial management skills. Experience dealing with financial, asset and resource management matters. Project management skills to achieve project objectives and deliverables. Success in stakeholder engagement, Government relations, advocacy and negotiation. Experience working with a Board or Management Committee.
