As Manager, Risk Assurance at Australian Retirement Trust, you’ll play a key role in shaping our risk management frameworks and delivering independent, evidence-based insights to senior leaders. You’ll collaborate across the business, drive continuous improvement, and ensure we stay ahead of regulatory expectations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key aspects of the role include: Lead the design and delivery of Line 2 risk assurance activities across operational and enterprise risks Provide independent oversight and objective assurance over ART’s risk management frameworks Develop and maintain risk‑based assurance plans and methodologies Coordinate and oversee control testing for operational, technology, cyber, third‑party, and compliance risks Prepare high‑quality assurance reports and insights for senior executives and Board Committees Monitor and report on remediation of control deficiencies and risk issues Build and maintain strong relationships with business units, control owners, and risk specialists Partner with Internal Audit to optimise coverage and minimise duplication Lead, coach, and develop a team of risk assurance professionals Foster a culture of integrity, objectivity, and continuous improvement across the risk function This role is a permanent opportunity based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: Extensive experience in APRA‑regulated entities, ideally within superannuation or financial services Deep understanding of prudential standards and regulatory assurance requirements (e.g., SPS 220, CPS 230, CPS 234) Proven ability to design and implement comprehensive assurance programs and control testing methodologies Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high‑performing teams Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities Advanced analytical skills for evaluating complex control environments and identifying systemic risks Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including presenting assurance findings to senior executives and boards Proficiency in data analysis techniques and tools to support evidence‑based assurance conclusions Change management experience, with a track record of transforming assurance functions and implementing new methodologies Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, Risk, Audit, or related discipline; professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CISA, CPA) highly regarded About us Our 2.4 million members trust us to take care of over $330 billion in retirement savings.
