We’re gearing up to launch the first standout, Andaz Gold Coast and we’re looking for a sharp, data driven, detail-obsessed Chief Accountant to set our financial house in perfect order from day one. This is a rare opportunity to shape the financial systems, policies and culture of a hotel from the ground up What You’ll Do What You’ll Do Pre-Opening Phase Establish all accounting procedures, controls, and financial workflows Set up the chart of accounts and ensure alignment with brand and ownership guidelines Support budget planning, CAPEX tracking, and pre-opening cost control Implement accounting systems (POS / PMS integrations, inventory, procurement) Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and external partners to ensure readiness Train the finance team and guide other departments on financial standards Operational Phase Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end closing Monitor revenue, expenses, payroll, and cash flow with precision Ensure accurate financial reporting, P&L, and balance sheet integrity Manage compliance with local regulations, tax requirements, and internal controls Work closely with department heads to drive cost efficiency and financial awareness Support the Director of Finance in strategic planning and forecasting Qualifications Qualifications Who Are You A hotel finance pro with pre-opening experience (or ready to take that next step) Confident in setting up systems, policies, and clean workflows from scratch Able to balance strategic vision with hands‑on detail management Excellent in communication and collaboration across all hotel departments Tech‑savvy with PMS / POS interfaces, accounting systems, and reporting tools Calm, organized, and unshakeably reliable—even when deadlines hit Why Join Andaz Gold Coast by Hyatt Be part of the first Andaz in Australia and set a new benchmark for lifestyle luxury on the Gold Coast – nationwide A values‑led culture : empathy, integrity, respect, inclusion, experimentation and wellbeing Global career pathways with Hyatt; generous hotel discounts and benefits worldwide Wellbeing programs, EAP, and competitive leave benefits A creative environment where your ideas shape the hotel’s story and success Location Location On‑site, Broadbeach, Gold Coast QLD.
