Customer Service Officer Fixed Term – 8 December 2025 to 18 January 2027. Part Time – Mondays and Wednesdays (15 hours per week). Location: Mundijong, Western Australia. It is an exciting time at "The Shire" and you could be a part of it Description We are seeking an experienced and professional Customer Service Officer who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will be rostered on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the flexibility to take on additional hours when required. Avoid the city chaos and embrace the family friendly, country town atmosphere of Mundijong. Accountabilities Maximise first‑time resolutions for customers by providing accurate information in response to enquiries or referring enquiries to appropriate officers where required. Receive customers and visitors to the Shire in a prompt and courteous manner. Answer all incoming telephone calls promptly, courteously, efficiently and in a manner that enhances the Shire’s image, including during high‑volume or demanding situations. Maintain a general awareness of the Shire’s operations in order to provide first‑time resolutions and enable provision of accurate information to residents and service providers. Qualifications Sound knowledge of cash receipting, including handling cash, cheques, credit cards and operating eftpos. Proven customer service experience with an ability to deal with difficult customers in a frontline customer service role. Ability to use multiple data systems, including a contact centre platform, with well‑developed computer skills including Microsoft Outlook. Problem‑solving and investigative skills with the ability to interpret policies, processes and knowledge base.
