Maternity Nominated Supervisor position

Start Date: Late January 2026Location: Small privately owned early childhood centre (est. 1981) Lake MunmorahChildren: 30 children per day (ages 2–5 years) We are a warm, community-focused early childhood service seeking a dedicated and passionate Nominated Supervisor to join our team for a maternity leave position beginning at the end of January 2026. This is a wonderful opportunity to step into a leadership role with full support. You will receive training and a handover period from our current Nominated Supervisor and centre owner before taking on the position when our current Nominated Supervisor begins maternity leave in March. About the Role As a small, private centre with a strong community reputation, our Nominated Supervisor plays a meaningful role in both leadership and everyday practice. Your responsibilities will include: Overseeing the daily operations of the service and maintaining regulatory compliance Engaging with the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and working alongside the team to implement ongoing improvements Supporting the Educational Leader in areas such as curriculum planning, reflective practice, and professional development conversations Completing and supporting educators with observations, documentation, and planning cycles Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and reflect relevant changes to legislation, regulations, and best practice Spending intentional time on the floor, engaging in group experiences, building relationships, and modelling high-quality interactions Creating a warm, collaborative environment for children, families, and educators Engaging positively with our local community, including families who have attended the centre for generations What We’re Looking For We would love to hear from you if you are: Diploma-qualified (minimum) in Early Childhood Education and Care Available full‑time (or 3 days a week for the right candidate) Knowledgeable in the National Regulations, National Quality Standard, and Early Years Learning Framework Passionate about stepping into or developing a leadership role Hold a current WWCC and police check or willing to obtain No previous Nominated Supervisor experience is required, if you have a strong foundational understanding of regulations and frameworks and aspire to move into this position, we encourage you to apply.
