THE ROLE Reporting directly to the General Counsel for the Asia Pacific Region, the Legal Counsel will negotiate a variety of cloud services (including SaaS), software licences, professional services and other related agreements (including addenda and order forms) with Temenos clients, negotiate with partners and third‑party suppliers, advise on associated legal issues such as privacy, security and intellectual property, and handle dispute resolution‑related matters in the region of appointment. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage, negotiate and draft cloud services, software licence, professional services and related agreements (including addenda and order forms) with clients in the Asia Pacific region. Manage and negotiate on technology procurement matters relating to Temenos products and services, including inbound software licensing and cloud services solutions. Manage disputes, pre‑litigation and litigation files (including arbitration). Liaise with and supervise external counsel for outsourced matters. Follow up on business and legal related activities on a day‑to‑day basis, including advice on privacy, security and intellectual property issues related to Temenos products and services. Review and advise on employment matters including employment agreements. Review and advise on marketing‑related agreements. Perform other duties, functions and services consistent with legal counsel status, experience and preferences as may be determined by members of the legal department or by Senior Management. Undertake regional training activities related to the legal function. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Thrives in a fast‑paced sales environment, taking a commercial and pragmatic approach to complex legal issues. Relevant legal experience in technology, intellectual property, privacy/data security, and/or financial services. Resilient, great at prioritisation and time management, with a “can‑do” attitude as an in‑house lawyer. Excellent legal drafting skills and a problem‑solving mindset. Enjoys working with lawyers and non‑lawyers alike, and keen to develop legal skills in the financial technology sector. Enjoys working on legal matters in both Australia and across the Asia‑Pacific region.
