Volunteer Online as a Conversation Partner

Overview ENGin pairs English-fluent volunteers with Ukrainian learners for weekly online conversation practice. Participants are matched 1-on-1 based on preferences, interests, and availability to ensure an effective and mutually enjoyable communication experience. After a match is made, ENGin supports learners and volunteers throughout their participation with tips, resources, and problem resolution. We screen every learner and volunteer to ensure their fit for the program and provide training and orientation. What You Do Join ENGin as a conversation partner to make a direct impact from home. You will be paired with a learner in Ukraine for weekly one-hour video chats at times convenient for you. During conversations, you will: Practice English with your partner Learn about each other’s cultures Offer an empathetic, authentic space for connection No prior tutoring experience or knowledge of Ukrainian is required. ENGin provides training resources, session materials, and flexible guidance to customize sessions to fit you and your partner’s goals. Our team supports you throughout your time with us. Requirements English fluency Strong internet connection Ability to commit to one hour per week for a minimum of 10–12 weeks Impact and Experience Since launching in 2020, ENGin has connected thousands of volunteers with Ukrainians for authentic English-language connection across borders.
