About Uniting At Uniting, we believe in taking real steps to make the world a better place. We work to inspire people, enliven communities, and confront injustice. We are Compassionate, Respectful, Imaginative and Bold . Role Overview We are seeking a confident and highly capable Talent Acquisition Specialist to join Uniting on a short term, fixed‑term contract over the Christmas period and into early 2026. Supporting our corporate portfolio, you will step into a fast‑paced environment where proactive, self‑directed work is essential. In this role, you will partner closely with leaders and stakeholders, manage end‑to‑end recruitment activities, and contribute to our broader talent acquisition strategy and employer brand initiatives. You will also help maintain effective recruitment practices, strengthen candidate engagement, and ensure a seamless onboarding experience — all while keeping momentum through the holiday period. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned recruiter with strong sourcing capability, polished communication skills, and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, picking up requisitions immediately and operating with minimal direction. Proactively source candidates across SEEK, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other channels, maintaining strong, engaged candidate pools. Interpret CVs, position descriptions and cover letters to make informed recommendations to hiring managers. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including agencies, educational institutions, and industry partners. Provide clear, timely communication to candidates, hiring managers and business leaders. Confidently negotiate salary, including explaining not‑for‑profit salary packaging. Prepare accurate contracts in Dayforce and ensure onboarding documentation is complete. Support the development and continuous improvement of Uniting’s talent acquisition practices in line with organisational strategy. Produce monthly updates for leadership on talent acquisition metrics, initiatives and market insights. Seek and share market intelligence to strengthen attraction, assessment, and sourcing approaches. Train and support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process. Manage all recruitment administration, including ATS updates, job postings, weekly recruitment updates and onboarding activities. Identify emerging market trends and talent opportunities and communicate these to key stakeholders. Contribute to commercial strategy, continuous improvement, and regular business review sessions. Drive and maintain relationships with Agency panel members. Promote safe work practices and support an inclusive, welcoming environment for colleagues of all backgrounds and identities. Qualifications and Experience Typically, this role requires two or more years’ experience in a similar recruitment or talent acquisition role. Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end recruitment, ideally across both agency and in‑house environments. Strong sourcing capability across multiple channels with a proactive, intuitive, and self‑directed approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior candidates and leaders — including the ability to push back when required. Demonstrated experience supporting internal and external customers with a high level of professionalism. Skilled in stakeholder management, influencing, and partnering with professionals at all levels. Experience delivering employer branding activities, attending events, and supporting recruitment marketing initiatives. Strong problem‑solving ability and commitment to achieving optimal outcomes for candidates and hiring managers. High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in HR technology and applicant tracking systems. A genuine passion for recruitment, with interest in marketing, social media, and new sourcing approaches. Ability to operate confidently through the Christmas/holiday slowdown with resilience and adaptability. Experience managing external recruitment suppliers, agencies and vendors. Experience reviewing recruitment processes to drive efficiency and improve engagement. Even better Familiarity with Dayforce, including system and process configuration. Experience working in the not‑for‑profit sector. How to apply Submit your CV and a brief cover letter highlighting why this role appeals to you - Applications reviewed upon receipt.
