The Role Harrisdale Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an experienced, capable and highly motivated School Psychologist to join our growing school community. The School Psychologist will ideally have experience in conducting risk assessments, counselling, liaison with individual staff members and external agencies, and case conferencing. They will also ideally have the ability to work independently and as part of a team to support students, parents, teachers and school administrators in a wide range of areas including mental health issues, complex behaviour, learning difficulties and disability, and emergency and critical incident management. In addition, the School Psychologist will be keen to proactively support the ongoing development of our Student Services department that is committed to improving student lives through learning and achievement. The School Psychologist will be responsible for delivering direct psychological services to identified clients, applying psychological skills and knowledge to improve mental health, learning and behavioural outcomes for students. In so doing, they will work in collaboration with school personnel, parents, caregivers and other agencies. The School Psychologist will assist with the development, implementation and facilitation of school‑based support services and programs and operate as a member of a collaborative Student Services team. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills. Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self‑directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter‑agency partners across a variety of contexts. Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.
