What You’ll Do Providing an immediate and effective response to critical incidents. Escorting patients safely to other departments or appointments. Assisting with the overall cleanliness and order of the unit. Supporting daily unit activities and engagement programs. Conducting routine environmental and safety checks. Testing and recording duress alarms and maintaining safety equipment. Collaborating closely with nursing and clinical staff to ensure the best outcomes for patients. Selection Criteria Demonstrated understanding of mental health issues and ability to work within an acute mental health setting. Commitment to interact with patients and facilitate unit activities. Demonstrated ability to perform duties and tasks with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team member. Good written and verbal skills and sound computer and keyboard skills. Current Class 1C NSW driver’s licence (unrestricted) and current 1A Security licence. Experience in the security and/or health industry and knowledge of duress alarm systems. Sound knowledge of WH&S issues and understanding of the requirement for strict confidentiality.
