Engagement & Community Officer

Overview We are seeking an Engagement & Community Officer to join the Hunter Veteran and Family Hub in Maitland (start January 2026). The role supports current and former Defence personnel and their families. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate and manage events for veterans and families. Develop and run marketing and social media campaigns. Act as liaison with community services and welfare organisations. Serve as the face of the Hub and provide high‑quality customer service. Advocate for clients and support them through various initiatives. Qualifications Proven ability to build meaningful relationships internally and externally. Experience in event management, social media/marketing, community and/or welfare services. Highly developed communication skills; able to prioritise, manage and problem‑solve. Knowledge of, or experience working with, Australian Defence Force personnel. Cert IV in Community Services or Marketing is an advantage. Requirements Cert IV in Community Services or Marketing (advantage), valid Police Check or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or both.
