Metal Fabricator

Our client is a large fabricating company and is looking to employ Metal Fabricators to repair and fabricate various products. You will be required to fabricate structural steel and other metal to make and repair products. To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following: AQF Cert III including at least 2 years of relevant experience OR at least 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications. Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements. Select, clean, and prepare metal stock. Cut marked‑out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines. Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering. Align parts to be joined using hand tools. Join metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting. Examine welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision. Finish products by cleaning in acidic solutions. Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding. Able to work efficiently on your own or within a team environment.
