We are currently partnering with two organisations seeking experienced Payroll Officers to join their teams on fixed term contracts, with high possibility of permanent placement. With employee groups ranging from 300 to 1,000, these roles offer the opportunity to step into well-established payroll functions and support accurate, customer-focused payroll delivery. Whether you’re available to start immediately or prefer to begin in the new year, both teams can offer flexibility to suit your circumstances. About the Roles Across both opportunities, you will support the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance and great service to employees. Responsibilities End-to-end processing of monthly or fortnightly payroll Inputting new starters, terminations and employee changes Managing the shared payroll inbox and responding to employee queries Interpreting awards, agreements and company policies Supporting calculations for leave, overpayments/underpayments and retro adjustments Preparing payroll reports, reconciliations and variance checks Assisting with superannuation, payroll tax, workers compensation and STP Supporting EOFY and other annual processes Maintaining payroll records and ensuring compliance with legislation Collaborating with HR, Finance and external providers What We’re Looking For Previous experience in a payroll role Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail Ability to interpret payroll concepts (leave accruals, taxation, retro entries) Comfortable managing an inbox and providing excellent employee support Experience using HRIS/payroll systems (Dayforce, ADP, SAP, Chris21, etc.) Strong Excel skills applied in a payroll environment A team-oriented approach with the ability to prioritise effectively Why These Roles Are Great Contract opportunities with the option to start immediately or in early January Well-established payroll teams that offer training and support Exposure to BAU processing and ongoing improvement activities Hybrid work (after training), split depending on the organisation Great opportunity to broaden your payroll experience in reputable businesses How to Apply If you're a payroll professional looking for a contract role with flexibility on start dates, we’d love to hear from you.
