The Criminal Justice Reform Taskforce is seeking passionate and experienced candidates to fill the position of Director, Justice Policy Partnership (JPP) Section at the Attorney-Generals Department. The Criminal Justice Reform Taskforce is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that provides an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of significant First Nations justice policy reform and work directly in partnership with First Nations stakeholders and communities and across Government.

The successful applicant will lead a team and work in partnership with states, territories and First Nations experts to shape and transform the justice system for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The JPP was the first of five policy partnerships established under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap to address the over-representation of First Nations adult and youth in the criminal justice system, consistent with Outcomes 10 and 11 under the National Agreement.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the team providing strategic advice to Government on the operation of the Justice Policy Partnership and its priorities and working in partnership with the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services (NATSILS) to provide policy and Secretariat support to the Partnership. This includes working with NATSILS as joint-secretariat to deliver four JPP meetings per year, supporting the JPP to implement key initiatives of the JPP's Strategic Framework (including anti-racism strategies, cross-sector partnerships, justice partnerships and sector strengthening), as well as implementing an approach to the third-year evaluation of the Partnership over the next 12 months.
