This is a 24 month fixed term, part-time (0.2 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension (12 months) Attached to Pegs Creek Primary School (PS), this position works alongside Pilbara Education Regional Office. The Pilbara Education Region is one of eight regions within the Western Australian Department of Education. The Pilbara Education Regional Education Office is located in Karratha. Educational Regional Offices provide information on local public school options, special programs and services such as school psychology, behaviour centres, home education and reporting students not attending school. About The Karratha And Roebourne Education Initiative (KREI) Since 2007, Woodside and the Department have been engaged in a Pilbara education initiative to improve education outcomes for students. The initiative provides opportunities for students and supports pathways to employment. In 2023, Woodside and its joint venture partners extended the partnership to include Karratha primary schools. The 5‑year partnership, known as the Karratha and Roebourne Education Initiative (KREI), seeks to achieve the following key objectives: Increase educational attainment and achievement. Improve educational opportunities and pathways support for students. Support pathways to employment. Assist the attraction and retention of quality teachers through the delivery of professional learnings and development. The Role The KREI is seeking an enthusiastic and aspirational educator to develop, implement and facilitate a Student Leadership Alliance for Karratha Primary School Students. If you are passionate about empowering students to find their voice, participate in decision making and contribute to the community, the Student Leadership Alliance Coordinator could be the role for you Ideal applicants skills and qualifications The ideal applicants skills and qualifications: Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings. High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes. Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students. Capacity to manage physical and financial resources. Be dynamic, energetic and culturally responsive. As the Program Coordinator, you will take a key leadership position, collaborating closely with staff to ensure the program’s success. You will have the opportunity to: In conjunction with Karratha Network Principals and KREI Coordinator, develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate Student Leadership Alliance for Karratha and Wickham primary schools students. Support cooperation between schools through facilitation tri‑termly activities, bi‑annual alliance events and annual forum, with a focus on developing the leadership skills of students. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Student Leadership Alliance. Foster a culture among students and staff to promote student leadership spirit and participation in the alliance. Provide professional leadership within the Specialised Learning Program (SLP) and across the school. You will play a crucial role in establishing and developing this important program.
