Program Coordinator – Student Leadership Alliance Overview This is a 24‑month fixed‑term, part‑time (0.2 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026 with a possible 12‑month extension. The role is attached to Pegs Creek Primary School and works alongside the Pilbara Education Regional Office in Karratha. About the Karratha & Roebourne Education Initiative (KREI) Since 2007, Woodside and the Department of Education have been engaged in a Pilbara education initiative to improve education outcomes for students. In 2023 the partnership was extended to include Karratha primary schools. The 5‑year partnership seeks to: Increase educational attainment and achievement. Improve educational opportunities and pathways support for students. Support pathways to employment. Assist the attraction and retention of quality teachers through the delivery of professional learning and development. Role The KREI is seeking an enthusiastic and aspirational educator to develop, implement and facilitate a Student Leadership Alliance for Karratha Primary School students. If you are passionate about empowering students to find their voice, participate in decision‑making and contribute to the community, this Coordinator role may be for you. Key Responsibilities In conjunction with Karratha Network Principals and the KREI Coordinator, develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate the Student Leadership Alliance for Karratha and Wickham primary school students. Support cooperation between schools through facilitation of tri‑term activities, bi‑annual alliance events and an annual forum, with a focus on developing students’ leadership skills. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Student Leadership Alliance. Foster a culture among students and staff that promotes student leadership spirit and participation in the alliance; provide professional leadership within the Specialised Learning Program (SLP) and across the school. Key Qualifications and Skills Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings. High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes. Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students. Capacity to manage physical and financial resources. Dynamic, energetic and culturally responsive. Professional Benefits Country Teaching Program Allowance of $8,020 per year. District allowance of $9,449 per year. 12% employer contributions to superannuation. 12 weeks’ vacation leave (school holidays).
