Job Title: Butchers or Butcher Support (keen to learn) – works in our production department, Food Production Location: B&E Foods Production Department (25 Bessemer Street, Blacktown)Employment Type: Full-TimeWorking Hours (subject to change for the right candidate): 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (Rostered between Monday–Saturday). About the Role: We are seeking a reliable and motivated Junior Butcher, Butcher Assistants (keen to learn) to join our production team. This role is based in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and is suited to someone with butchering experience or solid knife-handling skills. The role involves slicing large amounts of meats (with knives and machines) and helping the hot pot department as needed. As a Junior Butcher, Butcher Assistants in our production facility, you will be primarily responsible for processing and preparing red meats in bulk (pork, beef, lamb to name few) to meet supply and operational demands. You’ll be working in a team environment focused on production output, consistency, and hygiene compliance based on customer requirements. Key Responsibilities: Ideally previously experienced in Bandsaw Machine Operations. However, not essential. Assist Butchers for preparation on meats such as making sausages, cutting, trimming, and boning various different red meats in line with production requirements. For example, not limited to, types of meats or beef include (Wagyu, Angus, Yearling, Budget), Lamb, Pork brisket size differences and cutting requirements including the pork variations, as per customer requests. Assist Butchers for Performing bulk slicing, portioning, and packing of meat products. Assist and handling/operating knives and cutting tools safely and efficiently. Conducting value-adding tasks (e.g. crumbing, marinating) when required. Assist Butchers for Weighing, labelling, and preparing meat for packaging and distribution. Following strict hygiene and food safety protocols at all times. Ensuring a clean and safe workstation and contributing to team productivity. Collaborating with supervisors and team members to meet daily targets. Knowledge of food hygiene and safety requirements. Understands the pre-operations safety & PPE such as Knife Kit Handling and Sharpening. Assist Butchers to safely lift and move around meats, including manual handling of up to 25kg on designated racks. Able to demonstrate assisting Butchers to meat cutting skills using a knife and using a bandsaw machine, including slicing, dicing, schnitzel, and sliding techniques. Requirements: Prior experience in meat processing or knife-handling. Willing to train. Ability to work in chilly and physically demanding environments. Strong awareness of food safety and workplace hygiene standards. Team player with good communication skills. Flexible and willing to work early mornings and/or overnight shifts. Must be able to follow instructions, work efficiently, and meet time-based targets. Qualifications (Please indicate your relevant qualifications in your resume): Certificate II or III in Meat Processing (ideal but not essential.)
