Business Performance Data Analyst Part-time Onsite (Sydney - Lane Cove) Immediate Start Role overview Turn our rich platform data (multiple product/sale/buyer types and status-heavy journeys) into clear, actionable insights. Most KPIs are pre-defined ; your job is to operationalise them in SQL and dashboards, then use business acumen to propose smart ideas, proxy metrics, and low-lift experiments that improve conversion, margin, and days-in-stock. What you’ll do Start immediately: Join our team this side of the new year and hit the ground running. Operationalise KPIs: Build reliable SQL and dashboards for core metrics (e.g., conversion rates, time-in-stage, pricing/valuation accuracy, acceptance rates, SLA timings). Funnels: Ship state-transition funnels with time-in-status, drop-offs, and ageing views. Segment performance: Compare performance across customer segments, regions, and product lines. Valuation insights: Quantify model-vs-outcome accuracy (MAE, median deltas, outliers) and recommend pricing/flow tweaks. Idea generation: Propose new leading indicators (e.g., engagement depth → probability to convert) and quick experiments; estimate impact and measure uplift. Root-cause analysis: Explain variances vs targets and recommend concrete operational fixes. Data quality: Run null/duplicate checks, reconciliations, and lightweight anomaly flags; document status dictionaries and metric definitions. Skills & experience SQL (MySQL 8+): Strong JOINs/CASE, CTEs, window functions (LAG/LEAD), conditional aggregates; can read an EXPLAIN and suggest basic indexes. Funnel & cohort thinking: Comfortable modelling state transitions and computing time-between-steps; handles reversals/terminal states. Dimensional basics: Date/dealer/buyer/vehicle dimensions; clean metric definitions and consistent keys. BI / visualisation: Competent in Metabase/Looker Studio/Tableau (any) to ship fast, usable dashboards with filters and drill-downs. Business acumen: Turns ops conversations into hypotheses; scopes tests; picks lead indicators; sizes upside with simple models. Communication: Clear, concise storytelling for non-technical stakeholders (what happened, why, and what we should do). Privacy & hygiene: Minimises PII in extracts; follows least-privilege access. Nice to have Automotive wholesale/logistics/finance exposure (PPSR, discharge timing). Experience with Metabase Python (pandas) for ad-hoc analysis; Git for versioning analytics SQL. Experience with AWS RDS/MySQL; familiarity with marketplace metrics. Qualifications & level Preferred: 2–4 years’ experience in a data analyst/BI role with production SQL and shipped dashboards.
