Commercial Counsel

Looking for an exciting role which will provide a sense of ownership? This is a great opportunity for a mid-level lawyer to expand your skills and progress with a global company.
This role would suit someone that demonstrated a willingness to take on increased responsibilities and is able to act independently (with support from senior lawyers), has excellent planning and organisational skills for project development and implementation, and is efficient at completing tasks timely to support internal and external clients demands.

We will count on you to:Provide expert and commercial legal advice in a timely and professional manner to all aspects of the Marsh & Mercer Australia businessesWork on contracts with our clients, suppliers and the insurance market generallyWork on industry specific materials such a binding authority, opinion letter, attestation, Authorised Representative agreement, or distributor agreement.Analysis of and advice on new and/or changing laws and regulationsIdentify liability exposure and provide solutions to manage and reduce risk to Marsh & MercerEffective management of outside counsel and review of outside counsel work product.Provide supervision and development to junior team membersLiaison between the legal team and rest of the corporate groupAssisting in producing reports, manuals, and presentationsOther tasks as directed by the manager, Chief Commercial Counsel, Pacific
What you need to have:Pro-active and highly organisedThrive in a high-pressure environmentAbility to work autonomously and accurately to meet multiple deadlinesStrong attention to detail with a high level of writing and communication skillsAbility to draft and edit conciselyStrong Microsoft Office skills
