Abseilers Crew Pty Ltd is a Sydney-based rope access company, with locations also in Brisbane and Melbourne, specialising in building repairs and maintenance including painting, concrete rendering, restoration work, and window cleaning. We are a growing company and looking to expand our Sydney team to include qualified trade painters with a minimum of a painting qualification and 2 years’ experience. Responsibilities Consult with clients, as required, about type of surface and optimal paint options, particularly for high-rise buildings and construction sites Calculate surface area to be painted, determine amount of paint and materials needed to complete the job and organising materials within allocated budget Perform industrial rope access work; use rope access skills to complete paint jobs on, often, hard to reach places of high rise buildings Preparing surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes and washing surfaces. Use tools and materials like sandpaper, wire brushes, scrapers, drill brushes, and abrasive blasting to prepare surfaces Ensure surfaces are not susceptible to moisture by sealing cracks and corners, especially on building facades Examine type of surface being finished, location, and environmental exposure to select and apply appropriate primer Paint different surface type including, but not limited to, windowsills, metal roofs, steel structures and beams, and building facades Must be able to apply different painting techniques like sponging, distressing, stippling and colour blocking to create decorative, textured and faux finishes to the clients’ specifications Perform restoration, rendering, installation, and maintenance work on building structures as required Carry out work allocated in a safe and efficient manner Prepare, remove and clean up paint spills, dust, and other materials from completed job site Ensure work is performed to specified standards Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner Care for, maintain and secure all tools, equipment and materials used in day to day work Qualifications Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (preferable) Minimum 2 years’ experience as a trade painter in the rope access industry and knowledge of the building repair and maintenance industry Rope Access technician certified A valid white card Full work rights in Australia Strong problem-solving skills to face unexpected challenges that arises Good communication skills when working with other technicians, contractors, suppliers, clients, building managers, engineers, etc. A strong commitment to completing projects on time and within budget #J-18808-Ljbffr
