Our Melbourne-based Glass Plant is preparing for a busy holiday period, and we’re looking for a reliable casual Dispatcher to join our team leading up to Christmas, with the possibility of ongoing work into the new year and beyond. About the Role As a Dispatcher, you’ll be at the heart of our operations — playing a critical role in the smooth and efficient running of our dispatch area. This isn’t just a back-of-house job; you’ll be a key link between our production team, warehouse staff, drivers, and customers. Your day will involve coordinating the movement of high-performance glass products, ensuring each order is accurately prepared, carefully handled, and dispatched on time. You’ll be responsible for making sure everything is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there — all while upholding our high standards of safety, quality, and customer service. This role requires strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and a calm, organised approach — especially when things get busy (which they often do during the pre-Christmas rush). Your duties will include: Loading and unloading of trucks Preparing and checking dispatch manifests Quality control of outgoing glass orders Communicating effectively with warehouse and driving teams Ensuring timely and accurate order dispatch What You’ll Need ✅ Good computer skills (experience with dispatch software is a plus) ✅ Current forklift licence ✅ Physically fit — able to lift up to 30kg ✅ Strong attention to detail ✅ Flexible and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment ✅ Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious Nice to have (but not essential): Experience delivering fragile materials or building products Basic knowledge of glass handling (training provided) What We Offer ✔ Casual role with the potential for some full-time hours available in the lead-up to Christmas ✔ Opportunity for ongoing work in 2025 for the right candidate ✔ Monday–Friday work with early starts = afternoons free ✔ Overtime opportunities ✔ All PPE and safety training provided ✔ Supportive, team-first environment ✔ Be part of a well-established, trans-Tasman business Apply Now If you’re looking for a hands-on, fast-paced role in a great team environment — apply today and kickstart your next opportunity with FMI.
