Share a Cuppa and a Conversation Volunteer in Glenorchy TAS Provide social support and companionship to a woman in her 80s in Glenorchy. You will help ease feelings of social isolation and brighten her day while sharing a coffee in the local community. The client: We are seeking a friendly female volunteer to visit a lovely older woman in Glenorchy who is looking to expand her social connections. She enjoys music, watching TV, chatting about her grandchildren, and sharing her love of hockey. She’s a warm conversationalist who would appreciate company for a cuppa at a local café, a chat in her cozy home, or a stroll in the garden. For you: Meet someone new Be a part of a meaningful activity to improve an individual's quality of life and combat social isolation. Share and hear exciting stories Listen to some music Chat about TV shows – you might even find a new one or two to watch along the way Join a community of volunteers making a difference in your local area. Receive ongoing support and training. Be welcomed into genUs friendly and inclusive workplace. About you: Enjoy spending time with an older person. Comfortable driving with the client to a local café for coffee or lunch. Has excellent story‑sharing, empathy and listening skills. Is dependable, confident, and able to work independently.
