Marketing and Communications Coordinator Position Title: Marketing and Communications Coordinator Salary: ($75,000 - $80,000 depending on level of experience, plus salary packaging) Appointed by: National Director Responsible to: National Communications Manager Direct reports: None Term of appointment: Full time, Permanent Organisation Profile Frontier Services is Australia's oldest bush charity working nationally with people in remote areas of Australia. Through Bush Chaplaincy and our Outback Links volunteer program, we provide practical, pastoral and spiritual care to people doing it tough in isolated areas including First Nations, farming and mining communities. Frontier Services is an agency of the Uniting Church in Australia. The Uniting Church is the third largest Christian denomination in Australia. Purpose Reporting to the National Communications Manager, the purpose of this role is to support outbound marketing, fundraising and communication activities to achieve increased organisational impact. Frontier Services relies entirely on the generosity of our supporters and the community to help us deliver our vital programs to those in need, and our Marketing team plays a vital role in developing this support with the Australian public. Similarly, Frontier Services draws on the community to volunteer with us in delivering many of our initiatives across rural and remote Australia through our Outback Links program. Nurturing the expansion of our volunteer network is a key focus of this role. About You Frontier Services is looking for a full-time marketing coordinator to join our team. If you are well organised, creative, have excellent communication skills and are good with both computers and people, we'd love to hear from you. Key Areas of Responsibility Collaborate with Programs and Fundraising teams to scope, plan and deliver marketing and communications activities that support donor and volunteer acquisition and retention. Coordinate content and updates on the website using WordPress, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, search-engine optimisation (SEO) fundamentals and brand consistency. Organise paid and organic social media across all digital channels (planning, scheduling, community management, moderation, and basic performance optimisation). Coordinate content for the quarterly newsletter, working closely with and supporting the Individual Giving Manager (briefing contributors, collecting assets, proofing, and managing approvals and deadlines). Schedule eDM distribution to segmented audiences, ensuring consistent messaging and scheduling alignment across all communications channels. Collect and produce engaging content, using a combination of media submitted and procured by the Marketing team, that conveys key messages and reflects our brand. Contribute to and maintain a forward marketing and communications calendar aligned to organisational priorities and campaigns. Liaise with external suppliers (e.g. designers, printers, photographers/videographers, media platforms) to deliver quality marketing collateral to timelines. Track and report on marketing and communications activity (e.g. social, web, email, media) and contribute insights to improve performance. Provide on-the-ground communications support at field activities and events as required. Work in line with Frontier Services and UCA policies and procedures, including WHS, safeguarding and privacy. Maintain a flexible approach to hours and be available to travel within Australia when required. Undertake other reasonable duties as required. Key Measures of Success include: Support the development of high quality and engaging content. Positively promote Frontier Services and The John Flynn Foundation to external audiences, to increase reach and engagement. Positively promote Outback Links to external audiences to increase volunteer recruitment, improving the volunteer experience and contributing to overall retention. Deliver to key project milestones, such as print and lodgement dates. Effectively and efficiently manage the use of communication platforms. Develop productive working relationships. Key Stakeholders Relationships Internal Bush Chaplains External Donors and volunteers Congregations and community groups Assembly, Synod and Presbytery staff whose roles connect with our work External bodies and organisations relevant to the work of Frontier Services Essential Technical Skills Strong understanding of digital content management systems, particularly WordPress (uploading, editing, basic layout, and SEO optimisation). Proficiency with social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, Instagram). Experience coordinating eDM (email direct marketing) campaigns using tools integrated with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Ortto). Excellent written and visual communication skills, including proofing, copywriting, and content adaptation for web, email, and social platforms. Basic knowledge of design and multimedia production tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or equivalent). Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple content streams and deadlines concurrently. Ability to collect, evaluate and report on performance data (e.g. social media analytics, website metrics, eDM results). Excellent attention to detail and quality control across digital and print outputs. Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team and coordinate with multiple stakeholders. Desirable Technical Skills Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce (contact segmentation, campaign tracking, data management). Understanding of SEO principles and accessibility standards in digital content. Familiarity with video filming, editing, and content adaptation for digital platforms. Experience coordinating print production and liaising with suppliers (e.g. printers, designers, media partners). Understanding of the social, environmental and cultural context of rural and remote Australia. Awareness of the Uniting Church in Australia, its ethos and organisational structure. Relevant employment clearances (including National Police Check and Working With Children Check) will be required upon appointment.
