Business Development Manager

GEM Energy is expanding its commercial outbound team, and we're looking for driven Business Development Managers who want to make a real impact, helping businesses transition to clean energy. This is a fast-paced role, focused on generating new business through outbound prospecting, cold calling via phone and in person and managing opportunities from initial contact to contract close. You'll work across solar PV and battery primarily for SME and mid-market businesses. Backed by RACQ, GEM Energy is a leading provider of solar, battery, and energy efficiency solutions across Australia. We've delivered over $300m in projects for businesses big and small. From Australia Zoo to RNA showgrounds to the Brisbane Entertainment and Convention Centre, and we''re just getting started Key Responsibilities Generate new opportunities via cold calling, outreach campaigns, and face‑to‑face meetings Conduct site visits and customer appointments Qualify leads using internal processes Deliver Set Up Calls to uncover objections, investment criteria and timelines Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely proposal delivery Maintain full compliance and activity logging in our CRM Consistently achieve quarterly and annual sales targets What Success Looks Like Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients across multiple deal stages Deep understanding of client investment criteria and decision‑making processes Frequent delivery of Set Up Calls Clear documentation of all communications in CRM Strong collaboration with internal teams utilising sales processes About You Self‑motivated and highly organised Confident with phone‑based and face‑to‑face client interactions Familiar with CRM systems (HubSpot will be used daily) Interest in renewable energy and carbon efficiency Able to work under pressure and deliver in a structured environment What We Offer Career growth in a booming sector OTE $160k per year with uncapped commissions Free RACQ Roadside Assistance for all staff 20% staff discount on most RACQ insurance products Office perks: free coffee, fruit, beer taps, and a dog‑friendly workplace Regular staff events, team lunches, and a genuinely supportive team culture A values‑led company that promotes from within and celebrates success #J-18808-Ljbffr
