Product Design Engineer – Mechatronics NPD (MedTech – Brisbane) Salary: $130-160K + Super. The Company Our client is a pioneering Brisbane-based medical technology business that focuses on research, engineering excellence and patient outcomes. They are at a very exciting stage where they are releasing multiple products into market. Responsibilities Execute the full product development lifecycle: planning, design reviews, verification, validation, prototyping, and transfer-to-manufacture. Lead hardware architecture design and system integration for prototypes and products. Analyze requirements, produce specifications, design documents, estimates, and test plans. Ensure products meet regulatory, risk management, and safety standards (including ISO 13485, FDA, TGA). Keep up to date with advances in medical devices, sensor technologies, embedded systems, and manufacturing methods, and share knowledge with the team. Work with the Manufacturing Team and partners to establish manufacturing requirements, methods, and machinery. Prepare and maintain design documentation, technical reports, and specifications in compliance with medical device regulations (FDA, TGA, ISO 13485, IEC standards). Your Background/Experience Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering. Proven experience in end-to-end product design and development, including commercial launch of at least one new product (NPD). Expertise in system architecture, embedded hardware (SoC, ARM Cortex‑M/Cortex‑A, STM32, Atmel, NXP), and analogue/digital circuit design. Proficiency with in‑circuit communication protocols (I2S, I2C, UART, SPI, PDM, PCM). Experience with biomedical sensors, piezoelectric devices, or small‑form wearable devices. Real‑time processing of medical sensors (FIR/IIR filters, PID controllers). Familiarity with QMS implementation and ISO 13485 certification processes. What’s On Offer?
