We are seeking a Part Time Medical Laboratory Scientist (28.8hrs/fortnight) to join our dedicated team at our Berwick Laboratory, VIC. The Berwick Laboratory services the St John of God Hospital in Berwick and operates 06:30am to 18:00pm Monday to Friday and 06:30am to 13:00pm Saturday. Your role will be multi-disciplinary in nature and will require you to participate in the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, working as part of a dedicated team in all areas of the laboratory including Pre-analytical, Biochemistry, Haematology, Coagulation and Transfusion. Duties will include urgent and routine bench work, maintenance of instrumentation and equipment and compliance with accreditation and quality assurance requirements. The preferred applicants will be flexible, punctual, self‑motivated, display initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision. The preferred applicant will need to be available to work Thursday, Friday and Saturdays at a minimum, as well as participate in an on‑call roster rotation. Required Skills and Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Science or an AIMS accredited equivalent as a minimum. Be eligible to currently work in Australia as a Medical Scientist Relevant experience and qualification in Biochemistry, Haematology and Transfusion. High attention to detail and experience working in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to multitask and successfully work as part of a team as well as a lone scientist Exceptional communication, time management & organisational skills. An enthusiastic and flexible approach to work Have own transport and be able to take part in weekend and on‑call rosters including public holidays. Familiarity with Ultra/GGG Laboratory Information System (LIS) whilst not essential would be advantageous Applicants must address the criteria above in their application.
