Business Operations Manager

The Business Operations Manager is at the heart of keeping our company running smoothly, safely, and in full line with regulatory and organisational standards. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our operational frameworks, policies, and systems – from ISO standards and WHS procedures to document control and governance practices. Working closely with teams across the business, the Business Operations Manager helps simplify processes, ensure compliance, manage risks, and support the delivery of our strategic goals. What You’ll Do: Accreditation, Compliance & Governance Lead and maintain ISO accreditations (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and regulatory compliance with TAO, TfNSW, RMS and other panel accreditations. Maintain and improve our Internal Management System (IMS), coordinating audits, continual improvement initiatives, and corrective actions. Oversee WHS policies, site audits, and safety reporting, supporting staff inductions and training. Maintain compliance registers and risk frameworks, monitoring and mitigating operational risks. Operational Systems & Process Improvement Review, map, and improve business processes, workflows, and operational procedures. Maintain document control across all company systems and support the integration of new tools. Implement and maintain governance frameworks to ensure consistent operational standards. Operational Support & Leadership Lead incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions, ensuring timely resolution and communication. Support onboarding, training, and induction of staff. Oversee IT systems, intranet platforms, and system integrations, liaising with internal stakeholders and external IT providers. Manage operational procurement, supplier negotiations, and ensure compliance with WHS and environmental policies. Strategic & Financial Oversight Partner with leadership on business development, acquisitions, and process optimisation. Monitor operational performance, compliance, and cost efficiency, providing recommendations to drive continuous improvement. Promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture. Act as a key operational advisor to the leadership team, ensuring practices align with company values, WHS obligations, and compliance standards. Cross-Functional Support Keep up to date with industry best practices in compliance, safety, and operations. Assist with company-wide initiatives, events, and internal communications. Skills & Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Operations, Risk Management, or a related field. Previous experience in Surveying would be a huge advantage but a background in either Construction or Engineering is essential. Demonstrated experience in ISO accreditation, WHS management, and compliance systems. Strong knowledge of operational systems, process improvement, and document control. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and business systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Valid Driver’s Licence. Ready to Make an Impact?
