About the Role Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and priorities for the Media Platform, ensuring alignment with company‑wide goals. Proactively engage with other teams in early‑stage product discovery discussions to ensure Media Platform’s needs and constraints are considered before key decisions are made. Act as the central point of contact for Product Managers across groups like Multimedia, Teams & Education, Product Platform, Infra, and Design Experience. Advocate for the adoption of Media Platform solutions across teams, highlighting their potential to accelerate engineering and enable enterprise‑critical features like data residency and per‑customer encryption. Develop and maintain relationships with other product teams, facilitating smoother planning and communication processes. Identify opportunities to streamline Media Platform services to maximise impact and efficiency, freeing up engineering capacity. Promote the development of innovative platform solutions that solve recurring challenges across Canva, making the platform more scalable and extensible. Drive the discovery and delivery of key capabilities required to support new initiatives, such as Digital Asset Management (DAM). You’re probably a match if Strong technical background with a deep understanding of platforms, software development, and current technology trends. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical teams. Strong ability to prioritise, manage trade‑offs, and focus teams on the highest‑impact work. Strategic thinker with a track record of executing large‑scale projects successfully (ideally in technical platforms, cloud services, or other related areas) Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑growth tech environment is preferred. Experience in database, storage or content management domains (Nice to have) About the team The Media Platform Group’s mission is to provide a world‑class platform for every design ingredient and design template, on every device, wherever you are, whoever you are, at any time, with perfect reliability. We support all complex design ingredients, present and future, as well as all design templates and aim for consistent functionality across all. Our core entities today store templates, images, fonts, audio, and video and we manage a fleet of services that store, process and serve these ingredients. Nearly all designs start from a template served by template service and load several ingredients from Media Platform services. With 200M+ monthly active users, our services run at high levels of scale, storing large amounts of data and need perfect reliability, all whilst keeping infrastructure costs under control. This is a fascinating and challenging environment to work in that drives the group to develop innovative cross‑cutting solutions that work across all ingredients and which are often adopted by many teams outside the group, and maximise the positive impact we have on Canva engineering teams and users around the world.
