Key Highlights Initial contract to June possible extensions Sydney based role Hybrid working Arrangements Large scale migration program with leading organisation within financial services Overview Our client is looking for an experienced Product Manager with 3–5+ years of hands‑on product management experience, ideally within payments or related financial services. This role sits in the Payments Acceptance domain and focuses on delivering merchant payment products while transitioning them onto the new enterprise‑wide payments platform. This is a delivery-focused, customer-centric role requiring strong product ownership, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate within a complex environment with multiple dependencies. Purpose of the Role The Product Manager will be accountable for driving the successful migration of two key merchant payment products—terminal and home‑based payment solutions—onto newly established payments infrastructure across the bank. Key Objectives Lead the migration of payment products onto the new enterprise-wide payments platform. Understand end-to-end business requirements, customer journeys, product design and impacts. Ensure customer experience is maintained or improved throughout the transition. Partner with Risk, Compliance, Governance and Architecture to secure necessary approvals. Own the shaping of the remaining percentage of product scope not yet fully defined Accelerate delivery of the existing roadmap, which is largely mature but behind schedule. Key Responsibilities Manage the full product lifecycle for assigned merchant payment products. Conduct product discovery, analyse customer and merchant needs, and translate findings into actionable product design. Work closely with engineering, risk, compliance, policy, operations and other payments squads to ensure smooth migration and aligned outcomes. Drive product readiness across journey mapping, change impacts, service design, and operational transition. Manage cross-squad dependencies and remove delivery blockers. Provide mentorship and knowledge uplift to the secondary PM (ex-technical BA). Communicate product decisions, risks, timelines and progress to internal stakeholders. Champion customer outcomes while balancing commercial, regulatory and operational considerations. Skills & Experience Required Essential 3–5+ years true Product Management experience Demonstrated ability to manage products end‑to‑end, including customer journey ownership. Strong prioritisation, delivery management and decision‑making capability. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience working with complex technical dependencies and multiple streams of work. Highly Desirable Prior payments product experience (merchant acquiring, card payments, transaction processing, terminal products, etc.). Experience in financial services, fintech or enterprise platforms.
