Lived Experience Project Worker (Autism) - 3DN, National Centre of Excellence University of New South Wales – Kensington NSW Employment Type: Part Time, 7 hours per week Duration: 1-year fixed term contract Remuneration: Professional Level 5 $88,717 pro rata + 17% Super and Leave loading Location: Kensington, NSW Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Why Your Role Matters: The Lived-Experience Project Worker (Autism) provides administrative and project coordination support to initiatives aimed at improving mental health and overall health outcomes for autistic individuals. This role is designated for a person with lived experience as an autistic individual and involves contributing personal insights to guide project design and delivery. Working within the 3DN team at the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health, the role supports projects such as the NSW Autism Mental Health Strategy and related education and training initiatives. The position is responsible for assisting with project planning, coordination of meetings and workshops, stakeholder communication, and general administrative functions to ensure effective project delivery. Reporting to academic staff supporting the Chair of Intellectual Disability Mental Health, this position has no direct reports and plays a key role in ensuring that lived experience perspectives inform and enhance the Centre’s autism-related mental health projects. Skills & Experience Lived experience of autism (identifies as being autistic). Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience. Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and/or educational initiatives to improve the mental health and/or health of people with developmental conditions. Excellent time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines. Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands. An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines. Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
