Regulation Officer (Patrols and Parking) Townsville City Council is hiring a Regulation Officer for patrols and parking. This permanent part‑time position (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) pays LGO3 ($38.09–$41.12 per hour + superannuation), based on skills, qualifications and experience. About The Role This role plays a vital part in ensuring public safety across Townsville by patrolling open spaces, parks, rivers, gardens and streets to monitor compliance with local and state legislation. It supports the weekend Officer in delivering community safety and takes appropriate enforcement action where required, including parking and local law breaches. Key Responsibilities Patrol open spaces, parks, rivers, gardens and streets to monitor compliance with legislation. Provide support to the weekend Officer in community safety activities. Investigate and enforce regulations related to parking and local laws. Respond to animal‑related incidents, including handling animals and assessing behaviour. Collect and present evidence to support enforcement and prosecution under local laws and environmental health legislation. Engage the public in a calm, authoritative and respectful manner, handling disputes or confrontational situations with professionalism. About You Confident communicator with strong listening, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills. Experience in animal handling, behaviour and management. Proactive, community‑focused approach with the ability to work independently. Well‑developed investigative abilities and ability to gather and present evidence.
