About the Role As a Business Discovery Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering and securely operating business discovery services on a day-to-day basis to ensure effective and efficient technology delivery. You will leverage service frameworks, architectures, and solutions that support Sydney Water’s digital resilience. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to implement and maintain secure, reliable, and innovative technology solutions. Key Responsibilities Deliver and securely operate business discovery services across all sites, ensuring availability, capacity, and resilience. Collaborate with Digital Services teams and external providers to maintain and improve business discovery systems. Monitor performance, manage risks, and provide reports, metrics, and dashboards to support decision-making. Ensure compliance with Sydney Water policies, frameworks, and service standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a high-performing, safety-focused team culture. Provide technical advice and assist with capability development. Participate in prioritisation and task allocation to meet customer service requirements. Required Experience & Skills Tertiary degree qualification in information technology, computer science or similar or equivalent industry experience. Strong communication skills with flexibility, teamwork, and customer service focus. Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and in customer-friendly language. Skilled in solving challenging technical problems to deliver business-aligned solutions. Mandatory skills: Azure Databricks. Minimum 3 years of experience in Databricks Notebook, Workflows Understanding of Databricks Notebook, Workflows. Collaborate with business users and report developers to understand their requirements and provide technical support. Data issue investigation and problem solving. Pyspark knowledge Deltalake understanding Exposure to DevOPS working environment. Azure Data Factory. Ensure compliance with security policies, access controls and data privacy regulations. Strong SQL knowledge. SAP BODS or Other ETL tools Perform routine system administration tasks such as user management, security configurations and system backups. Monitor system performance and optimize the ETL environment for efficiency and scalability. Implement and manage access to ETL tools. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ETL. Collaborate with business users and report developers to understand their requirements and provide technical support. Data issue investigation and problem solving. Desired skills: Perform installation, security patching, configuration and upgrade SAP BODS software and components. Unix/Linux commands and scripting. Control-M job scheduling and job management. Experience with data replication using SAP SLT. Exposure to utility industry. Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
