ChaoZhou/Teochew speaking Volunteer to visit Lady in Donvale Converse in ChaoZhou/TeoChew and provide companionship during weekly or fortnightly friendly visits to an isolated elderly lady living in Donvale. A patient, caring, mature aged female volunteer familiar with ChaoZhou/TeoChew culture who speaks this dialect for this role would be ideal. Visits may be spent talking or sharing in a simple leisure activity together. Your regular visits can make a real and positive difference in the life of this resident — reducing social isolation and improving well-being. We ask volunteers to commit to weekly or fortnightly visits for at least 12 months, however this is an ongoing role & we hope to support your friendship for as long as possible. Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support, travel reimbursement and invitations to meetings together with other visiting volunteers. This program is part of the Community Visitors Scheme and the Commonwealth Home Support Program, an Australian Government Initiative. To find out more please apply below and we will contact you.
