Seeking Hungarian Speaking Friendly Lady for Visits to Older Residents Share your friendship, language and companionship during weekly/fortnightly friendly visits to older Hungarian speaking ladies living in Residential Aged Care. A volunteer who speaks Hungarian and English would be perfect for this role. Visits may be spent talking or sharing in a simple leisure activity together. Your regular visits can make a real and positive difference in the lives of these residents — reducing isolation and improving well‑being. We ask volunteers to commit to weekly/fortnightly visits for at least 6 months. This is an ongoing role and we hope to support your friendship for as long as possible. Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support and travel reimbursement (part). Volunteer Duties Minimise the social isolation experienced by an older person through the provision of companionship and support on a regular basis through weekly/fortnightly visits. Act as a link between the older resident and their respective community. Encourage the independence and self‑esteem of the recipient. Increase the recipient’s participation in activities and facilitate interaction within the aged care facility or community when appropriate.
