Technical Officer – Servers Brisbane CBD | Hybrid 6 month contract with possible extensions $49.48 / hour + Super We are working with a major State Government Department. Join a high-performing Infrastructure team supporting a large and complex enterprise environment within the public sector. As a Technical Officer, you’ll work alongside a team of skilled specialists to maintain, support, and enhance a predominantly Microsoft-based server environment with some Linux systems. Key Responsibilities Assist with the implementation, maintenance and support of ICT systems and infrastructure. Manage and administer technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, VMware, and Azure. Contribute to automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives using PowerShell. Support lifecycle management, patching, monitoring, backup, and recovery across the environment. Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimise downtime and maintain system stability. Provide technical advice and collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve ICT service delivery. Manage small ICT upgrade and implementation projects within agreed timeframes. About You You’re a hands-on technical professional with solid experience supporting enterprise ICT environments. You take pride in maintaining stable systems, solving complex problems, and contributing to continuous improvement. Demonstrated experience in Windows Server administration and Active Directory management. Working knowledge of Azure, VMware, and Linux (RedHat) systems. Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation concepts. Understanding of patching, monitoring, and backup/recovery technologies (SCCM, VEEAM, Azure).
