Executive Manager (AO8) Employee Relations Lead the Queensland Fire Department’s Employee Relations Unit, managing a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement workplace relations strategies, advise senior executives, represent the department in industrial forums and handle complex employee relations matters. Responsibilities Provide expert advice to senior executives on employee relations, industrial relations, dispute resolution and strategic employment frameworks. Represent the department as an industrial advocate in Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and other tribunals. Lead case management of employee matters, resolve grievances and disputes through workplace advice and independent review. Interpret, develop and implement industrial strategy, variations to industrial instruments and enterprise agreements to ensure compliance with legislation. Prepare complex briefing material, cabinet submissions and correspondence on industrial relations issues. Manage operational and strategic planning, workflow and quality management, budget and other resources. Lead a multi‑disciplinary team, foster teamwork and manage human resource activities, including staff performance and review. Qualifications & Key Requirements Knowledge and experience interpreting relevant legislation, industrial instruments, engagement with employee representative bodies and managing grievances and disputes. Tertiary qualifications in industrial relations, law, human resources or a related field. High level of communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Experience managing a multi‑disciplinary team and driving outcomes.
