Position Harm Reduction Peer Support Worker (Maximum Term Part Time) – Coburg, VIC, 3058 Closing on: Dec 7 2025 Role Overview We’re seeking a Harm Reduction Peer Support Worker who draws on their lived and living experience of substance use and recovery to support others navigating similar challenges. In this role, you’ll provide empathetic, practical, and non‑judgmental support, sharing insights to foster hope and connection. Working alongside AOD clinicians, peer workers, and community partners, you’ll bring a lived experience perspective to individual support and team collaboration. You’ll share harm reduction information and strategies to promote safer practices, reduce overdose risk, and empower people to make informed choices. This position is part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to person‑centred, inclusive care, helping individuals build confidence, strengthen social connections, and work toward their wellbeing goals. Benefits 12% salary increase (SCHADS Level 3 + super) plus an extra 17.5% on top of your fortnightly pay when you take paid annual leave Access up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits to use for living expenses such as rent, groceries, bills, clothing, etc. 10% discount on childcare subsidy gap fee for eligible employees when using a Uniting Early Learning service or centre Great location in Coburg close to public transport Opportunities for training and development to help you grow Qualifications and Experience Relevant qualification in a health and/or welfare‑related discipline, or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential) Certificate IV in AOD or completion of Alcohol and Other Drug core competencies (or willingness to complete within 24 months of employment) Lived experience of substance use and accessing public AOD services Demonstrated ability to support clients and families experiencing problematic alcohol and drug use in a respectful, compassionate, and positive manner Experience in a similar role (AOD or mental health support) is desirable but not essential How to Apply Click APPLY to submit your interest, and we’ll be in touch shortly.
