Business Process Outsourcing Manager

Our client, a global merchant and processor operating in the commodities and supply‑chain sector, is seeking an experienced Business Process Outsourcing Manager to lead finance process design, standardisation and digitalisation initiatives. This Brisbane‑based role sits within a finance Centre of Excellence and will play a central part in a major SAP S/4HANA‑led transformation programme, partnering with regional and global stakeholders to drive process harmonisation, automation and value enablement. This is a senior, hands‑on role for a candidate who combines deep operational finance knowledge with proven change‑delivery skills and experience of large transformation programmes. Key responsibilities Act as process owner for core finance processes (Accounting / General Ledger, Controlling, Invoicing / Cash, Inventory accounting), defining and embedding Group best‑practice. Lead and coordinate the functional application of group processes during transformation rollouts (discovery, design, implementation), ensuring local adoption and business buy‑in. Provide functional authority on process deviations and shape pragmatic solutions where local requirements diverge from core design. Drive process improvements and value‑enablement initiatives (e‑invoicing, automation of cash allocation, reporting and analytics), including assessing feasibility and business case. Support finance system implementations and integrations under the SAP S/4HANA ecosystem and associated tools (e.g., ARIBA, consolidation and treasury systems). Lead and coach a team of BPO specialists (typical span 10–15), and coordinate with co‑sourced or guest resources as required. Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, IT, Front Office and Operations to influence change and manage risks during rollouts. Contribute to Centre of Excellence activities, continuous improvement of Finance processes and the development of target operating models. Key requirements Substantial operational experience (c.15 years preferred) combining audit/consultancy and hands‑on participation in finance transformation programmes. Demonstrated track record as a Process Owner / Functional Lead on ERP/finance transformation (SAP S/4HANA or equivalent). Strong technical understanding of accounting and controlling processes, with the ability to translate business requirements into system‑enabled processes. Proven experience in process design, implementation of IT tools or interfaces, and delivering change in international environments. Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills; experience managing medium‑sized specialist teams. Strong analytical capability, problem solving and attention to detail; comfortable working to tight deadlines in project mode. Relevant tertiary qualification (Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or similar). Fluency in English; experience with finance programme tools and analytics solutions is advantageous.
