Position Physiotherapist, Mental Health (fixed‑term part‑time) – Northern Health (all campuses) About Northern Health Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub‑acute, mental health, specialist, community and home‑based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Our services are delivered through five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre and Kilmore District Hospital. Mental health services are also provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. About the Role The KAW Older Adults Mental Health Unit (KAWAMHU) is a 15‑bed acute inpatient unit located at Bundoora Campus. The Grade 2 Physiotherapist will provide high‑level evidence‑based physiotherapy care to consumers within this unit, supporting people in an acute phase of mental illness who are unable to receive treatment at home. The role offers holistic, evidence‑based care utilising safewards and recovery models of care, working collaboratively with patients, families and significant others to achieve quality outcomes. Responsibilities Provision of high‑level, evidence‑based physiotherapy care to consumers at KAW Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit. Work independently, demonstrating flexibility, good organisational skills and teamwork. To be successful in this role you will have: Experience and demonstrated expertise managing patients in a mental health setting. Significant clinical experience and skills working with older adults aged 65 years or older, including those with comorbidities and fall risk. Demonstrated capability in service innovation and development. Leadership skills and initiative in developing and promoting clinical care. Well‑developed interpersonal skills.
