What I’m Looking For? This position exists to assist me to have a good life included in the community as an active and valued citizen. My Team Leader has a lynchpin role that involves working with me, the people close to me and my team of support workers to put my plans into action so I can achieve my goals and get the most out of my supports. The Team Leader gets to know me very well, works collaboratively, coordinates, and manages my team of assistants and gives direct assistance to me. This role incorporates direct support as well as some administrative tasks. You will: Support me to develop independence, get involved in the community, make friends and deepen friendships and connections. Support me to develop my interest in pursuing my passion for film making, contributing to the community and making money. Work alongside me to lead, build and cultivate the team to support me to live a good life, as defined by me. Have responsibility for supporting me with rostering, ensuring that I spend increasing time with friends and family to reduce reliance on paid supports. Work in collaboration with the disability service to coordinate recruitment, induction and training of any new staff, ensuring each team member is driven by human rights principles. Primary Duties: Champion and uphold my human rights at all times, modelling this standard for everyone involved in my life. Provide strong leadership that supports my decision‑making, autonomy and self‑determination. Lead in helping me build freely‑given relationships and coach team members to develop the skills needed to support me in strengthening connections with friends, family and community. Support me to manage my appointments, schedule and diary. Ensure high‑quality supports are consistently delivered to me. Assist with the recruitment, induction and training of new team members. Provide individual supervision, guidance and support to each team member. Oversee performance management processes. Organise and facilitate team meetings. Prepare and maintain monthly rosters. Be a reliable and effective communication partner, and demonstrate leadership in communication practices to the team. Support and guide team members to explore and grow my interests and passions. Work alongside me to liaise with allied health, medical and other professionals to promote my independence, health and wellbeing. Manage consumables, including ordering and stocktake. Support me in exploring assistive technology options, coordinate trials and support team members to learn and use new technology. Troubleshoot IT issues as they arise. Follow and monitor my team’s compliance against all organisational protocols, policies and procedures in place by my chosen provider. Maintain accurate, timely and thorough records. Communicate effectively with team members using established channels. Support me to explore new social opportunities and ways to engage with my community. Seek out, contribute and share ideas for work‑related and social participation. Provide hands‑on support, including personal care, ensuring my safety and proactive health management. Collaborate closely with and maintain strong relationships with my Circle of Support. What you’ll have: A positive mindset with the energy and enthusiasm to get things moving. This is a permanent part‑time role requiring a minimum of 26 hours per week, with the flexibility to increase up to 38 hours per week, based on operational needs and mutual agreement.
