We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Director to join the Empower team that has a strong desire in working in a positive team environment where children's safety and wellbeing is at our highest priority. You must be able to laugh at jokes you don’t understand, or that you don’t find funny. You will preferably have a little bit of quirkiness. You will need to have the skills to lead by example, to teach and to coach. OWNA experience is not necessary, but it will help you. You need to be a solution finder, not a problem carrier. You will be required to lead and further develop EMPOWER’s philosophy, curricula and elevate the program. Agility and adaptability are essential; singing in tune is not required. You must be able to distribute loving cuddles as required. Having the skills to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving children is of utmost importance. Employee motivation is above all; you must bring new ideas, make things fun, and look out of everybody else’s lenses before your own even when it’s annoying. You must be able to reflect on service practice, including your own, to every part of our philosophy. You must have a high level of appreciation toward your team and know how each member receives communication and is appreciated. You must be a decision maker leading with conviction and recognise the need to adapt when decisions do not lead to the desired outcome. You must support adults so children can be fully engaged in activities through your interactions and relationships. Conflict management across business areas; an effective leader should resolve or mitigate conflict before it negatively affects the business. You must be able to performance‑manage and look out for rising stars to coach future leaders. You must be able to read a ten‑page book, handling interruptions per page and multitasking with admin tasks. You must be prepared to be available; the Director’s role often requires quick responses. You must communicate with kindness. Thinking on your feet and organising the workplace are essential skills. You must bring fun to the workplace; professionalism with a personal touch.
