Job Description About the role We’re looking for a Legal Recoveries Officer to join our high-performing Recoveries Team within Resimac Asset Finance. In this role, you’ll take ownership of managing legal recoveries activity end-to-end, ensuring arrears are addressed promptly, decisions are made in line with legislation and company policy, and RAF’s interests are protected. You’ll work closely with customers, solicitors, liquidators, and internal teams to drive optimal resolutions, safeguard assets, and maintain compliance across all legal recoveries processes. You’ll also contribute to process improvements, provide coaching to new and existing team members, and support the continuous enhancement of Recoveries operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong legal recoveries or paralegal experience who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-centric, and compliance-driven environment. If the following sounds like you, you’ll be a great fit: 3+ years’ experience in recoveries, legal recoveries, or paralegal work within banking & finance. Solid knowledge of legislation including National Credit Code, AML/CTF, Privacy Act, and Fair Trading Act. Strong understanding of mortgage litigation and recovery processes across all states. Experience with mortgage security, caveats, Chattel Mortgages (vehicles & equipment), and asset finance recoveries. Skilled in negotiating with customers and representing third parties. Ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and engage effectively with external law firms. High attention to detail, strong communication skills, integrity, resilience, and excellent time management. Able to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment. Qualifications in legal studies are desirable. What’s in it for you?
