Overview A leading financial services organisation is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their fast-paced Trading Analytics team. In this role, you'll design and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and core data infrastructure that support daily trading, analytics, and modelling. Working closely with traders, quantitative analysts, and developers, you'll deliver end-to-end data solutions—transforming raw market and transactional data into reliable, high-quality insights. Base pay range A$1,000.00/daily - A$1,100.00/daily Location & contract Sydney | 12-Month Contract | A$1,000–A$1,100/day + Super Key Responsibilities Build and maintain data pipelines for real-time and batch market, transactional, and reference data. Develop scalable data storage and processing systems to support analytics and reporting. Implement ETL/ELT processes to clean, validate, and enrich datasets. Collaborate with traders and quants to deliver curated datasets, dashboards, and analytical tools. Support integration of data into trading models, backtesting, and performance optimisation. Monitor and enhance pipeline performance, reliability, and scalability. Work within an agile, DevOps-driven environment to deliver end-to-end data solutions. Skills & Experience Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience building robust data engineering solutions. Experience with modern data storage/processing tech (PostgreSQL, MinIO, DuckDB or similar). Experience developing Python APIs or microservices (FastAPI ideal). Proven experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration. Ability to partner with traders, quants, and cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment.
