Problematic Sexual Behavior Clinical Social Worker We provide a highly motivated and experienced Problematic Sexual Behavior Clinical Social Worker for the Osborn Correctional Institution in Somers, CT. This is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week hazardous duty position (first shift, Monday‑Friday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, with rotating weekend and holiday shifts). The role focuses on preventing sexual assault through evidence‑based treatment and research. Introduction Our mission is to be a global leader in progressive correctional practices. Staff safety, victim protection, citizen welfare, and offender rehabilitation are core priorities. The Department of Correction seeks a clinical social worker who can provide trauma‑informed, research‑driven treatment for inmates exhibiting problematic sexual behavior (PSB). The role requires objective assessment, robust risk estimation, and the ability to deliver and manage group and individual interventions. Responsibilities Run 4–5 PSB groups per week, addressing risk factors such as consent, thinking errors, trauma, addiction to pornography, and hypersexuality. Conduct PSB risk/treatment needs assessments, including scoring the Static‑99R and Child Pornography Offender Risk Tool. Write comprehensive assessment reports and final group synopses, summarizing risk level and participant growth. Provide 1:1 supervision and participate in group supervision with the team. Deliver individualized interventions, case conceptualization, and treatment planning for PSB clients. Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in compliance with agency standards. Training Provided All successful candidates will receive training in the Static‑99R, Child Pornography Offender Risk Tool, identification of dynamic risk factors, semi‑structured interview techniques, and group implementation for PSB, including reading rap sheets and classification. Minimum Qualifications Licensure as a clinical social worker in the State of Connecticut. Preferred Qualifications Experience with individual and group psychotherapy in a correctional setting. Experience with criminal justice involving adults. Experience with sex offender assessments. Experience providing independent, research‑driven risk determinations and written reports. Special Requirements Possession of a license to practice clinical social work pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes. Eligibility for participation in federal healthcare programs (42 U.S. § 1320a‑7b). Ability to communicate with deaf and hearing‑impaired individuals (sign language). Proficiency in Spanish oral and written communication for certain positions. Travel may be required.
