Join to apply for the Senior M&A Underwriter role at CFC. Our award‑winning team underwrites a comprehensive range of transaction liability insurance products, including representations and warranties (R&W) insurance, warranty and indemnity (W&I) insurance, tax insurance and contingent liability insurance. As a Transaction Liability Underwriter, you’ll review the legal, tax, financial and other risks associated with a corporate transaction across a wide array of sectors. You will quote, project‑manage and underwrite representation and warranty insurance policies in connection with M&A transactions. Your commercial experience will enable you to build strong relationships with lawyers, bankers and brokers, win new business, and structure and negotiate bespoke insurance policies. Responsibilities Quote, project‑manage and underwrite representation and warranty insurance policies in connection with M&A transactions. Structure and negotiate bespoke insurance policies with lawyers and brokers domestically and abroad. Win new business and build strong working relationships with key lawyers, bankers, and brokers, and proactively seek opportunities to drive new business within TL. Effectively assess and price risks considering factors such as business sector, deal structure, jurisdiction and indemnification obligations in accordance with underwriting guidelines. Build and develop positive working relationships with brokers, clients, lawyers and other key stakeholders involved in the M&A process. Collaborate with the (TL / PL) and Marketing team to contribute to marketing content, materials, campaigns, and relevant communications. Attend relevant meetings, networking, and hosted events to build a strong broker network. Identify and highlight cross‑sell opportunities within CFC’s other lines of business. Ensure that underwriting policies, processes, and guidelines are adhered to by junior and new team members, meeting all compliance, regulatory and binder requirements. Identify development needs in the team and provide coaching, buddying, and technical training to more junior and new team members. Qualifications & Expectations Innovative, motivated M&A professional with a strong interest in business and commerce. Commercial risk‑assessment approach and sharp decision‑making skills. Strong relationship‑building skills with lawyers, bankers and brokers. Expertise in quoting, project‑managing and underwriting representation and warranty insurance policies in connection with M&A transactions. Ability to assess and price risks considering factors such as business sector, deal structure, jurisdiction and indemnification obligations in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
