Mental Health Clinician, Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) – St George Mental Health Service As an experienced Mental Health clinician with a background and interest in Child and Adolescent Mental Health who has a passion for helping children and their families, you will join our team to work with children, adolescents, young people and their families experiencing emotional, behavioural or social difficulties. Employment Details Employment Type: Permanent Full Time Position Classification: Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist Level 3, Social Worker Level 3 Remuneration: : $113, – $138, per annum, plus superannuation Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: REQ Location: Kogarah, Sydney Applications Close Date: 7 December Responsibilities CAMHS is a specialist Mental Health service providing comprehensive assessments, advocacy, therapy and other specialist services for children, adolescents, young people and their families who are experiencing emotional, behavioural or social difficulties. We have a family multidisciplinary approach aimed to prevent, identify, treat and reduce the impact of these difficulties on children, adolescents and their families. We provide comprehensive acute / non-acute assessments and treatment for children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioural difficulties. We provide short-to-medium-term therapy with a family focus. Interventions may be individual, family or group within a recovery-based model. The CAMHS Mental Health Clinician will deliver outpatient treatment, providing specialist mental health services and tertiary consultation to children and young people in a community setting inclusive of other service partners engaged with families within a CAMHS setting. The CAMHS clinician will facilitate, implement and evaluate care management pathways for patients with complex needs to appropriate services and support the service with implementation of service improvement initiatives. Selection Criteria Professional qualification in either Social Work (eligible for membership of AASW), Occupational Therapy with current registration with AHPRA, or Clinical Psychologist with full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or eligibility to progress towards same), alongside a minimum two-year full-time accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in clinical psychology. Extensive clinical experience in delivering family-based intervention and therapeutic models applying early intervention philosophy and principles to infants, children, adolescents (O-18 years) and their families / carers. Excellent negotiation, decision-making and advocacy skills, including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders across all organisational levels. Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes, and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff. Advanced skills in conducting acute / non-acute assessments including risk and management. Demonstrated computer literacy skills. Current driver's licence (or willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position). Benefits Eligibility list may be created for future Permanent Full Time positions.
