Mental Health Ambulance Police Program Clinician Join the team enriching health in millions of ways every day and make a difference in the lives of our local community. 116,892.00 - $133,191.02 per annum + 12% super & salary packaging | TemporaryFull Time | Illawarra Community Mental Health Service | REQ | Grade: Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1, Occupational Therapist Level 3, Social Worker Level 3 | Applications close: 14 December 2025 The Mental Health Ambulance and Police Project (MHAPP) clinician will provide a highly mobile, recovery‑oriented clinical assessment, consultancy and support to NSW Ambulance and Police managing mental health related cases in the community. They will also lead the trial of virtual assessment for consumers in geographically isolated areas. The MHAPP clinician works with NSW Ambulance and Police to provide mental health triage, primary client assessment and management of complex mental health emergencies and crises at an advanced level. The position holder will possess extensive knowledge of mental health disorders and demonstrated clinical practices to support, treat, coordinate and educate emergency services who work with consumers with complex mental and physical health needs. The position may be based in any of several locations, including Nowra and Oak Flats. The successful candidate is a clinical expert who facilitates excellence in research‑based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership. The following essential requirements must be met: Essential Requirements Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role Working With Children Check (WWCC) Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse/Occupational Therapist) Minimum of five years full‑time equivalent post‑registration experience for nursing candidates, and an approved post‑registration nursing/midwifery qualification relevant to Acute Community Mental Health or other relevant qualifications/experience Social Work degree and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Valid NSW Driver's Licence This is a temporary leave relief position until 31 May 2026 with the possibility of extension.
