Clinical Nurse Specialist – Diabetes (Part-time, 4 days/week) Join to apply for the Clinical Nurse Specialist – Diabetes (Part-time, 4 days/week) role at Healthcare Australia Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training. In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees. Part-time – 4 days/week (Hybrid) Play a key role in improving diabetes outcomes for detainees through education, support, and evidence-based care. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to empower detainees in managing their condition effectively. Key Responsibilities Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and provide direct diabetes management, including medication, insulin, and glucose monitoring, in collaboration with healthcare teams. Deliver education sessions and develop resources to enhance diabetes awareness, prevention, and self‑management across the detention network. Develop and review diabetes‑related policies and provide clinical leadership to ensure consistent, high‑quality, evidence‑based care. Qualifications & Experience Post‑graduate qualifications in Diabetes Management and Education Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing, nutrition, or a related healthcare field Minimum 5 years of experience in diabetes education and management, particularly in settings serving diverse or underserved populations Veterans are encouraged to apply.
