You must have the ability to work well under pressure, be organised and have excellent customer service skills. Tasks will require attention to detail, a patient focus and a drive for quality. Good communication skills are essential and you must be able to liaise with staff at all levels in a confident manner. You must be willing to learn and be able to work both independently and within a team. You must uphold our values of Safe and excellent at all times. Main duties of the job This role is to provide an administrative service to the Pre-assessment clinic. This will includes tasks such as greeting patients and visitors and handling telephone and email enquiries, including responding to requests for information, appointments and general enquires. You will work with the nursing team to support the effective running of the clinic. You will have interaction with other areas of the hospital and other NHS organisations. You will be responsible for arranging appointments for patients in a timely manner for various clinics within the department. Occasional Saturday working will be required. Person Specification Qualifications Educated to GCSE level or equivalent NVQ level 2 customer service/ business admin or equivalent Experience Experience of customer service or dealing with the public Experience supporting new starters and less experienced staff Experience of working within a team Experience of prioritising, planning and organising own tasks Previous experience of working in the NHS Previous experience of working in a reception/administration role Knowledge Understanding of confidentiality Understanding of customer service Basic knowledge of job requirements from job description Knowledge of administration procedures and systems Knowledge/use of EPIC (administration) Basic knowledge of the Trust Skills Ability to work as part of a team Good communication skills including telephone, email and face to face Ability to follow policies and procedures Ability to work under pressure Ability to show attention to detail and accuracy Good organisational skills Willing to learn new skills Ability to act on own initiative Advanced IT skills e.g. MS Excel Experience in using EPIC Additional Requirements The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
